VEGAKNITS

We are a dye studio specialized in natural dyes.

We proud ourselves to recover the tradition of dyeing and we color the fibers exactly as our ancestors did.
We are the projection of an idea.

VegaKnits started at the end of 2012, initially commercializing brands of recognized international prestige, translating patterns and teaching to knit.

Since then, we have been moving towards a more knitting global concept, which has led us, in a slow and natural way, to develop our own line of natural fibers.

You will find in our skeins time, dedication, craftsmanship, passion, emotion and love for our work.

We share something more than a hobby.

Dyeing – and Knitting – for us is a Life Style.

we believe in sustainability

And that's why we only work with ethical and sustainable sourced fibers that we dye with extracts from certified organically grown plants.

With our decision as a brand to only work with 100% natural products, we believe we can reduce our environmental impact.

We are immersed in a process of continuous training in the study of the art of natural dyeing in order to improve our work procedures and our resources to achieve better results, optimizing water consumption and creating unique color lines by exhausting all dye baths.

We are committed to artisanal work in which we sacrifice fast, and therefore more profitable, production processes for a way of transmitting our passion that is more in line with our way of thinking, further away from fast fashion and irresponsible consumption.

When we talk about sustainability we apply it to everything: we only use recycled kraft paper on cards, product labels and all packaging. We do everything in the studio: printing, cutting, labelling... all 100% handmade. You won't see it perfect, but it will be unique, like everything we do.

Who is behind Vegaknits?

My name is Inma and I am the founder of Vegaknits.

I am a psychologist by training and passionate about natural fibres and textile design by vocation.

The birth of my daughter in 2011 marked a before and after in my priorities and led me to radically change my career path.

When I started this project, it was not difficult to name it: Vega, after my daughter (she reminds me this project belongs to her!).

Apparent calm in continuous movement: persistent, perfectionist, honest and with a great sense of colour and aesthetics.

I am driven by the search for contemporary elegance.

Knitting, and later dyeing, is for me an introspective journey in which I become increasingly aware of myself. I have learned over all these years that what I really like is to enjoy the process, day by day, without too many expectations... like in life.

Being able to live off my passion is a real gift.
